    Details

    Project Overview

    If you have been thinking about metal work, join us for an afternoon of fun! In this class, you will have hands on learning with soldering sterling silver with a torch, using a jeweler’s saw, creating a closure, using a flex shaft and proper finishing techniques. By the end of the class, not only will you have a good start to metal working, but you will have a bold bracelet to show off your new skills. Students will finish the project.
     
  • Sea Kissed Sea Kissed

    Project Overview

    Create a contemporary bezel ring with sterling silver and Swarovski crystal. In this class you will learn how to create this unique bezel, retrofit a stone to fit the bezel, seat a bezel to fit the stone and finishing techniques. Most students will finish the project.
     
  • Highly Irregular Highly Irregular

    Details

    Level: Intermediate        Sessions: 1        Hours: 3 hours

    Project Overview

    So you know how to solder, but sometimes you just can’t get it right. In this class, I will show you some highly irregular tricks to fix messy soldering. After putting your new skills to the test, you will have fun pieces for a modern bracelet or necklace. Students will finish one or more pendants. Beading will not be taught. 

  • Twinkle Twist Twinkle Twist

    Project Overview

    In this class, we will make a twist and add a twinkle to create stacking bracelets. You will learn to solder, forge and twist sterling silver.
     
  • Positively Negative Etching Positively Negative Etching

    Details

    Project Overview

    Learn how to create your own etched designs in Sterling Silver. In this class, you will learn how to transfer your own designs to sterling silver and create a chemical etch.
     
  • 1+1+1+1=10 - Intro to Basic Soldering 1+1+1+1=10 - Intro to Basic Soldering

    Level: Beginner        Sessions: 1        Hours: 3.5 hours

    Project Overview

    1+1+1+1=10??? Yup! In this fast paced class you will learn how to multiply your skills from 4 simple ingredients. Using 4 materials, I will teach you how to create TEN different chain links while learning to solder silver. We will discuss all the basics and safety, then you will get hands on experience in torching and soldering silver and jump rings. Although you do not need any experience, some wire work is helpful.

  • Bold Connections Bold Connections

    Level: Intermediate        Sessions: 1        Hours: 4 hours

    Project Overview

    Make a statement by creating a “Bold Connection” to complete your beadwork. Pieces may be used to finish necklaces or bracelets. In this class, students will learn different ways to texturize metal, refine their soldering skills, and shape and forge wire to create a toggle.

    Students will finish the toggle, however, they may not have time to string their beaded necklace. (Semi-precious beads will be provided for the project. Stones will vary in size, shape and stone.) Pre-requisite: Must have soldering experience. Beading will not be covered in this class.
     
    If a rolling mill is provided, the tools list will be revised. 
  • Riveting Enamels Riveting Enamels

    Details

    Level: Beginner        Sessions: 1        Hours: 3 hours

    Project Overview

    Learn enameling and cold connections in one class. You will learn to torch fire enamel on copper and use transparent enamels on silver to create true colors. After firing all the pieces, you will rivet them together. Students will finish at least one pendant.
  • Mobius Pendant Mobius Pendant

    Level: Intermediate        Sessions: 1        Hours: 4 hours

    Project Overview

    Tired of the same old thing? Take a turn in your silver to create this classic yet modern pendant. You will learn the secret to transforming sterling silver sheet into a graceful moving form. In this class, you will polish your sawing, soldering and finishing skills. Students should have some soldering and sawing experience. Students will complete the pendant, but will want to refine it at home.
  • Silver Illuminations Silver Illuminations

    Level: Beginner        Sessions: 1        Hours: 3 hours

    Project Overview

    Ready to move on from copper enameling? Silver, here we come! In this class, we will use fine sheet to allow transparent enamels colors to shine and show off the brilliance of silver. This technique will add new life to your enamel work. Students will have the opportunity to put their own flare to each piece.
     
  • Intro to Prong Setting Intro to Prong Setting

    Level: Intermediate      Sessions: 1      Hours: 3.5 hours

    Project Overview

    Add prong settings to your repertoire! You will learn to set gemstones into a prong setting, as well as remove them. This class will introduce the basics of measuring and notching the setting for the perfect fit! Don’t worry about having the right tools, as they will be included in your kit. Pre-requisite: Must have soldering experience.
     
  • Silver H2Oh! Silver H2Oh!

    Level: Beginner        Sessions: 1        Hours: 3 hours

    Project Overview

    Create nature-inspired pieces for one-of-a-kind pendants, rings, earrings and more! This free-form technique is fun, easy and foolproof. No piece could ever be wrong! In addition to completing the pendant shown, students will have the opportunity to make several pieces that may be used after the class. Students will finish the project in class.
