    Learn enameling and cold connections in one class. You will learn to torch fire enamel on copper and use transparent enamels on silver to create true colors. After firing all the pieces you will rivet the pieces together.  Students will finish at least one pendant.

    Project Overview

    If you have been thinking about metal work, join us for an afternoon of fun. In this class you will have hands on learning with the following: soldering sterling silver with a torch, using a jeweler’s saw, creating a closure, using a flex shaft and finishing techniques. By the end of the class not only will you have a good start to metal working but you will have a bold bracelet to show off your new skills.  Students will finish the project.

    Ready to move on from copper enameling? Silver here we come! In this class we will use fine sheet to allow transparent enamel colors to shine and show off the brilliance of silver. This technique will add new life to your enamel work. Students will have the opportunity to put their own flare to each piece.

    Project Overview

    Whether you are continuing your exploration in enamels or just starting out, this twofer will add to your repertoire of skills. First, I'll teach you how to cut and emboss metal for texture and depth, then we will add enamel to it to create color for pizazz.

    Learn how to solder mixed metals without a mess. Sweat soldering will reduce bleeding of solder onto mixed metals. Additionally, you learn how to cut, shape and forge sterling silver. Put all the pieces together to create these distinctive earrings.

    Project Overview

    1+1+1+1=10??? Yup! In this fast paced class you will learn how to multiply your skills from 4 simple ingredients. Using 4 materials you will learn to create TEN different chain links while learning to solder silver. We will discuss all the basics and safety, then you will get hands on experience in torching and soldering silver and jump rings. Although you do not need any experience some wire work is helpful.

    See the light shine through this pendant? Using marbles and round beads as the center piece, you will fabricate a sterling silver bezel and set the bead in place. Students will have time to make at least two pendants.

    Create nature inspired pieces for one of a kind pendants, rings, earrings and more. This free form technique is fun, easy and fool proof; no piece could ever be wrong. In addition to completing the pendant shown, students will have the opportunity to make several pieces that may be used after the class. Students will finish the project in class.

    If you have been be collecting beach glass, shells, river rocks or beads that don’t have holes, I have creative ways to make them useful. This class will offer hands on experience with a flex shaft and how to properly use it. Students will learn how to drill several pieces and create rivets for a great finish! Most students will finish at least 3 pieces. Stones will vary in color and size.

    The first goal for all beaders is to learn how to solder jump rings. In this class we will bend sterling silver wire into shape and attach them with sterling silver jump ring. Then, through repetition, students will learn to solder sterling silver jump rings.

    Create a fun bracelet with all of those pebbles you have been picking up! In this class, you will learn how to properly use a flex shaft to drill stones and put it all together with wire. To create depth and interest we will patina and polish the bracelet.

    Long walks on the beach have yielded pockets full of glass and nowhere to go.  Here is a way to make them useful. Learn to drill glass and rivet the holes for a great finish. This class will offer hands on experience with a flex shaft and how to properly use it. (Note: there are no guarantees made as to the completion of project due to the sensitivity of glass.)

    This magical new resin will allow you to create resin pendants without the use of bezels. This process is the closest simulation to creating pieces that look like glass without the investment of a torch. Students will have the opportunity to create and experiment with this new material without limitations.

    Project Overview

    No one has time to wait for metal to patina naturally. In this class we will hasten the process by exploring eight different techniques to colorize metal using commercially available patinas and non-toxic patinas you can find in your kitchen. After we have created a patina we will use several different methods to seal your metal to preserve the colors you have created.  Then I will show you have to reverse the process if  the color you created turn out to your liking.

    Drilling, stamping, connecting. This class has a little bit of everything. Customize any stone/bead by drilling the hole where you want it. Students will learn the proper use of a flexshaft, drilling techniques, metal stamping and finally we will put it all together with a cold connection.
